Guillermo's Thoughts:

Unlike the Choose Your Own Star Wars Adventures series, which has you directly participating in events from the Star Wars films, this book's plot seems tangential to the The Clone Wars theatrical feature (since I haven't watched the animated series, I can't tell how important the book is within its context). The book includes an innovative character creation mechanism - at the beginning, you are asked to complete a multiple-choice questionnaire, and your responses determine the type of character you get to play. It is too convoluted for my taste, but I still appreciated the effort to make the book a little more game-like than is usual for a pick-a-path story. Since there are four possible character classes you can play, the book is actually split off into four different adventures (though the basic plot remains the same for all four). Dividing a gamebook into several different stories can work well if the book has minimal text and a large number of choices (in the manner of the Which Way Books series). Since the text passages in this book are long a la Endless Quest, however, there are not that many decision points, and the successful paths feel rather short (some even ridiculously short). The book, however, has enough choices that require strategy and careful thinking to make it worth a play-through. This isn't as good as the Bantam Star Wars series, but it isn't bad, either.
