Demian's Thoughts:

Although its title suggests an extremely broad survey, this collection actually contains articles grouped into a few relatively narrow areas -- among other things, a survey of the postmodern teen horror boom started by Scream, a look at movies that play with the nature of reality (including the almost gamebook-like Run, Lola, Run), and a lot of commentary on Stanley Kubrick. This may be disappointing if you expect something more comprehensive, but it makes for an interesting read if you're interested in the genres at hand. I'd certainly take the time to read more volumes if they were ever released, especially if Newman were the editor.
