Jordashebasics's Thoughts:

I suppose I like that there's continuity across the Master of books. Billy makes his appearance, and they acknowledge that in Master of Tae Kwon Do, he gave up martial arts for an interest in computers. Now he's back, although he doesn't figure heavily into the story.

This one plays out similar to the other ones. This time, you travel to Japan for a Karate tournament. You get mixed up with the Yakuza and UJEC, a Japanese electronics company. Somehow, these organizations are against each other? I guess it's probably since the UJEC is bent on world domination.

The most interesting aspect of this story is the choice to work with the Yakuza or pass on it. Oddly, choosing to pass on working with them results in them leaving you alone!

The highlight is when you actually participate in the Karate tournament.

If you like the other martial arts books, this is probably about as good as any of them.

pinkfloydechoes's Thoughts:

At least this time you actually know the martial art the title of the book is referring to, before going into an Asian country to learn it. This book is one of the better ones in the series. It's a solid book where you have to survive against Yakuza gangsters and the electronics company sponsoring the karate tournament. What makes it interesting is that you don't know who you can really trust, and if you choose wrong, you face the consequences.
