Jerry Wang's Kingdom of Sorcery Comments

These useful errata and comments were e-mailed to me by Jerry Wang, and I've been shamefully slow in posting them. Hopefully they'll prove useful to fellow AD&D Adventure Gamebook readers!

Errata for AD&D #7 The Sorcerer's Crown
1) Continuity: In the beginning of the book, you do not get Ulrik's cutlass if you attempt to use magic on him. Yet, you use the cutlass throughout the rest of the book.
2) Continuity: When you meet Thayne, you accuse him of sneaking into the alley. But, if you reach the alley after encountering the pirates, you hear him enter the alley through a door.
3) Continuity: Even though section 169 goes to section 97, the text does not explain how you get from one point in the story to the other. There needs to be a brief passage in between the sections.
4) In section 185, the path to section 239 should lead to 16.
5) In section 160, the path to section 241 should lead to 105.
6) In section 226, the path to section 267 should lead to 26.
7) In section 28, the paths determined by a dice roll, sections 10 and 179, are backwards.
8) In section 10, the paths determined by a dice roll, sections 190 and 208, are backwards.

Errata for AD&D #11 Clash of the Sorcerers
1) Continuity: Sections 102 and 119, independently, describe your revelation that Arno is part Drow. Each section then leads into section 172, where you have the exact same discovery again as if you never had the first one.
2) In section 23, the path to section 111 should lead to 17.
3) In section 183, the path to section 169 should lead...well, I can't quite figure out where actually.
4) In section 192, the path to section 212 should lead...well, I can't quite figure out where either.
5) Sections 91 and 180 do not fit into the rest of the book. This is a problem since section 180 is a victorious ending. They could be the destinations of the aforementioned 183 and/or 192 if it were not for the continuity error it would create (namely that Arno should be dead, yet you encounter him again).

Finally, although it is not technically an error, I notice that your hint is to get Rufyl searching for spell components as early as possible. The Dismissal spell that uses the planetar feathers Rufyl collects is never actually used in the book. By far the three most error-laden gamebooks I have encountered. Yet, they are also among the three most entertaining books I have ever read.
